The Leader Who Had No Title

---By Robin Sharma
I just loved reading this book completely.
It not only motivates and boost your confidence but also beautifully explains leadership with simple examples from practical life which will definitely touch your heart and could be an eye opener.
Leadership is all about innovation, performance and influence at your work and life.
We all feel bored of our roles in professional life at some point and always eye for a bigger title.
This book helps you connect you to your innersole and motivates you to lead from within even without a title. Titles will come to you eventually, if you show that capabilities.

Any role could be the best role of your life if you perform best in that.

A title lives a certain life which is given by your manager but if you lead without a title, its forever.
There is an extremely amazing phrase from the book which I will always remember and is as follows:

“The days come & go like muffled & veiled figures sent from a distant friendly party but they say nothing. And if we do not use the gifts they bring, they carry them silently away.”

Sure you going to enjoy reading this book!!!

Two States

-Chetan Bhagat

Once again Mr. Bhagat has done a marvellous job.

A story from his own life experience; full of emotions and true love.

A story which will not let you take away your attention from the book for a second. Short and wonderful compilation of mixed emotions which most of us experience during our struggling phase from college to corporate. It is a complete representation of love, passion, determination and hard work which everyone needs to have in his life to succeed in any kind of challenge.

From his experience we could see that in spite of lot of stress from family and surroundings one has to move on and give his best to make things happen the way he wants it to be.

A Personal Path

My tryst with affirmations and indeed spirituality began several years ago when a relationship broke up and in parting, I was told that relationships were meant to be beautiful and ours had not been. I was also told that I had not made the person happy. Fascinated by the concept of a 'beautiful relationship' and by the idea of happiness, I vowed that I would make this person happy, come what may. This was by no means easy to do as I found myself reacting to his behaviour with anger and jealousy. And then I hit upon the magic mantra, which was my passage to spiritual understanding. It occurred to me that if I really wanted this person's happiness, whatever he said or did should be okay by me. I formulated the thought thus: "It's his happiness that matters and not mine". I found my anger and reactivity receding and in its place a vast reservoir of peace and goodwill arising. Unbelievingly, I said these words again and again, and each time they worked like a charm, freeing me of my thoughts and feelings and allowing me to focus fully on seeing and understanding the other's point of view. In my own way I was affirming, though I did not know it then.

The words propelled me right out of my ego and into a state that I called 'absolute happiness'. For a full year, they retained their magic for me. I used to accompany their recitation by pressing my thumb and my middle finger hard. I later discovered that NLP called this anchoring, and recommended it as a way of recalling an experience intentionally. Alas, all good things come to an end and my year of grace faded away. However, it left me firmly entrenched on the spiritual path.

Why did this mantra wield such power over me during that time? Why not before and why not after? Such things are cloaked in mystery and it is hard to say why. Grace for me, is a good explanation for the first question. As for the second, I think of it as a trigger that launched me on the journey. That job done, it left me so that I could embark upon the hard and long task of dissolving all that stood between me and that state of absolute happiness…

A beauty of today: "This day & this moment"

God has bestowed all the wealth, power and beauty for the decoration of precious life. This is the one and only opportunity for us to make our life as best as possible. The only way to become the master of ourselves and ofcourse of the world is "THIS DAY AND THIS MOMENT"

The past is dead.
The future is not yet.
But it is present.
Which makes us best.

Our past is nothing but the collection of memories. Our future is nothing but just an imagination. Only what we have in our control is our present. So enjoy it. Make it as memorable as possible so that when in future we look back and recall our past memories then we will be cherished with our past. We will all die one day. It is only a question of WHEN AND HOW. So there should be nothing left unsaid undone from sorry, thank you to I love you's. So live graciously and happily.

Yesterday's issue of failure give tension today while there will be no sign tomorrow. On the otherhand achievement is only a history and nothing else.

Law of Attraction

The secret behind the secret
Author: Michael Losier

Discover how easy it is to use the Law of Attraction to:
  • Stop attracting things that you don’t want
  • Increase wealth and abundance in your life
  • Attract your ideal mate and ideal relationships
  • Boost your business or discover your ideal job
The author has beautifully explained law of attraction as “I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative.”

The concept of having a vibration bubble, which can be positive or negative, around us, is the gist of the book.

The following lines from the book, I feel holds true in our life:

“The word vibe is described as the mood or feeling which we pick up from someone or something. For Example, you may say you pick up a good vibe when you are around a certain person or when u walk in a certain part of the city or neighborhood.”

Similarly, every mood or feeling causes you emit, send-out or offer a vibration, whether positive or negative.

Negative vibes may be disappointment, loneliness, lack, sadness, confusion, stress, anger and hurt while the positive vibes are like joy, love, excitement, abundance, pride, comfort, confidence and affection.

The law of attraction is responding to the vibration you are offering. So guys better be careful next time, when you meet somebody or have a meeting with your client, you don’t want to loose, try to emit positive vibes and attract them deliberately.

Few quotes or rules to follow from the book are:

“The law of attraction responds to whatever vibration you are sending by giving you more of it, whether it’s positive or negative. It simply responds to your vibrations.”

When you make a statement containing the words don’t, not or no, you are actually giving attention and energy to what you don’t want.

Simply ask yourself
SO, WHAT DO I WANT?

“When you go from what you don’t want to what you want, the words change, the vibration changes, and you can only send out one vibration at a time.”

To know whether u r sending out a positive or negative vibe, simply take a look at the results u r getting in that area of your life, they are a perfect reflection of what you are vibrating.”

Identify what makes you feel good and do more of it.”

“Take time to appreciate anything. It’s the feeling attached to your appreciation that is important. Appreciation and gratitude help you offer strong, positive vibes.”

Abundance is a feeling. Be more deliberate to include the feeling of abundance in your current vibration – your vibrational bubble.”

The distance between your vibration and someone else’s vibration is equal to the amount of resistance (negativity) you feel when you are with them.”

To learn the techniques of identifying your vibrations and be able to make conscious effort whether you want to keep sending it or change it, this book is an excellent option.

So what are u waiting for…!!!

One minute Manager

Author: KEN BLANCHARD and SPENCER JOHNSON

Are we talking about effective management….???
Who is an effective and efficient manager…..???
Have you ever met a manager who is competent enough to accomplish all his responsibilities and yet is always available to meet his people's demand…???

Yes, answer to all your queries lies in this small wonderful book.
As its name suggests, it’s about a manager who surprisingly manages to do every work in just 1 minute.

Amazed with his principles and ideology, I am compelled to write a short review of it.

The basic idea behind his successful management lies in the fact of being well-organized and knowing your exact work in just 1 minute.

Simple approach is to compile all the tasks to be done in just “one sentence”, which could be read in just 1 minute.
This is about how a work should be done proficiently, but what if a person does a mistake…???
How to handle such situations is markedly explained in the latter chapters.

Something like “one minute reprimand”…Yes it is indeed.

The idea is not to hurt somebody’s feeling or let down his morale but if something has gone wrong, the person should be well aware of it, so as not to repeat the mistake again.

So is he a cruel manager….???
No dear friends, he is not a mean or brutal manager, but is also an inspirational and encouraging manager…as next in the list comes “one minute praising”…!!!

The power of motivation is the biggest strength one could have in him. Motivation comes with achievements and appreciations. Targeting that, one minute praising can do wonders to even an average performer.

So what are you waiting for now, start walking on the path to becoming “one minute manager”….a consummate manager yourself!!!

theOn-time On-target manager

Author: KEN BLANCHARD and STEVE GOTTRY

The on-time on-target manager is one book which reveals all secrets of how a “last minute manager” conquers Procrastination.

It’s an excellent book which talks about the three P’s of life….which will help you make correct decisions in time.

The three P’s – A mystery revealed by Ken Blanchard with a wonderful storyline to make his readers understand the depth of each ‘P’.

1. Priority “want to and have to”

  • Most important job – “highest priority
  • Categorize your jobs in three groups “YES, MAY BE, NO
    • Yes – want to do and have to do, have to do but don’t want to do
    • May be – want to do but don’t have do
    • No – don’t want to do and don’t have to do

2. Propriety “The bill of rights”

  • Do the right thing
  • Do it for right reasons
  • Do it with the right people
  • Do it at the right time
  • Do it with intensity
  • Do it for the right results

3. Commitmentya gotta wanna

  • what do I want to do and why I want to do it

The three words, although the ones we have been hearing since ages but never understood the impact of each in decision making.

This book beautifully brings out the peculiarity of the words and how one can implement these three in his life to make it more pronounced.
